If you were a bride the past 12 month, there is one completion you don’t want to miss out on! The Sarie Bride & Fair Lady Bridal Couple of the Year competition is one of the biggest bridal competitions we have in South Africa. Iaan and I just entered last week. If you haven’t entered, I’d suggest you do so asap! The competitions close the 28th of February 2011.
Iaan and I are very honored to be featured on Southern Wedding’s today and that’s why I thought it might be a good idea to finally write a post to all the people who made the day possible.
This blog post is a massive hug, kiss and billboard sized THANK YOU to all the fabulous people who helped out at our wedding and made it an absolute dream come true! All of you have made such a great effort to make it my and iaan’s best day ever and you definitely did it!
At first Iaan and I decided not to have a wedding video. To be 100% honest, most wedding videos just doesn’t appeal to me. But then I reconsidered 2 weeks before our wedding. I realized this day was going to be the one day I don’t want to miss a thing. I want to experience everything! And most of all I want something that can capture the emotion in motion. Photos do capture emotion, but in a totally different way. Photos are static, but the movement of a video is something totally different.
Now this might seem very vain, but yeh, who would ever say no to a second honeymoon right? So here is my and iaan’s chance…I just submitted some of our photos to the SA Wedding;s Bride of the Year Competition. (To all brides, you have to enter!! Loads of yummy prizes up for grabs!!)
So if you want to vote for me and iaan, please sms VOTE 11648 to 36697 (R5 per sms)
I just had to let you know…yesterday I had my first dress fitting! And now you all want to know who’s making the dress right? Well, it’s Zani & Erna from the new company Lace Blossom! Du Wayne, Zani’s husband and close friend of mine, did an amazing shoot for the launch of their site. Check it out on his blog.
The other day I spoke to a bride and she told me that she loved the way, how I use to credit service providers on each wedding. I looked at her with a frown and then I realized that many people might not see the special new section on my blog dedicated to all those awesome service providers that make the fairy tale a reality. I’m so sorry that I never pointed this out, but after the re-design of my site I thought everyone just knew…but then I realized that sometimes you need to take a little time and explain. My mind is always living in the future and therefore half of the time I forget to take a moment, breathe and explain. So here it goes…
Friends of mine just launched the little pink book. It’s a great gift for a girl that just got engaged! It’s a pocket size wedding booklet, filled with information, tips and ideas for any bride to be. The booklet also has a fabulous wedding directory with great service providers, form cakes makers, photographers, venues, dress makers to honeymoon destination suggestions! It’s really worth buying, especially for only R95! You can read more as well as order one online. Visit www.littlepinkbook.co.za for more info.
