Iaan and I have always wanted a live band at our wedding, but when it came to choosing a band, it was not that easy. My music preferences and iaan’s are worlds apart. However, we both love something fun, funky and relaxed and that’s exactly the vibe we wanted to create at the wedding. One day we were at a function and we heard the sounds of Manouche. I looked at iaan and we both thought the same thing! We found them!
Manouche is a group of musicians with, as they call it, a Gypsy Jazz style. I love how “different” they are :)
I’ve never been to Rawsonville before Herman and Suretha’s wedding, but now I’ll a big fan of the place. Rawesonville is a small farming community, surrounded by vineyards and green countryside. Seriously worth a weekend visit!
Herman & Suretha’s wedding took place outside on the lawn of a venue called Dwarsberg Trout Hideaway. The details were touches of rustic and countryside elements. I loved the fun atmosphere of the reception!
Some of you might remember Heinrich and Christelle from their engagement shoot. They are such a sweet couple! Their wedding took place on the 4th of December. Their wedding took place at Langverwagt a countryside estate close to Cape Town. The day was filled with laughter, love and forever after :)
As you probably know by now, Iaan and I loooove the internet! We love new technology and embrace it with open arms! Yet for many, this is a daunting and intimidating topic.
Iaan and I want to invite you to attend our first KIKI social media workshop!
This workshop is open to anyone. Not just photographers. This workshop is ideally for anybody interested in knowing how to use social media effectively in a business. If you’re asking what is Twitter? How do I use it? Then this one is for you :) If you’re a internet & twitter guru, this one is unfortunatley not for you.
It was my first wedding on the Eastern Coast of South Africa. Iaan and I arrived in PE and then it was me, him and Mr GPS. Luckily we found the little town at the coast, called Kenton on Sea. I’ve heard of it many times, but never been there myself. Kenton is very close to Steven’s heart as he spend almost all his holidays there as a young boy.
Kate from Wedding Concepts mailed me to to book me for a small intimate wedding, she called them “a cute couple”. She was 100% right! Rosina and Ansgar are soooo cute! They are so in love, giggled and laughed all the time. When Rosina walled down the aisle, Ansgar’s eyes filled up with tears and all that emotion just made me smile. It was incredibly special to be a part of!I hope you guys had a wonderful time in South Africa.
Louis & Leverne’s wedding was a day filled with laughter, magical colours and loads of fun! This spectacular day was put together by the one and only Hannes, from Wedding Concepts. The details were bright colours and elements of cuteness.
I know I went totally over board with the amount of pics I’m showing here, but I just could pick less. I really did try :) I loved the festive and informal atmosphere they created! Brilliant!
I have to give a little shout out to Nadia & Ryan before I post their photos. These two have been soooo nice to me! After their wedding on 16 October they told me to relax, enjoy my own wedding and not to stress about their photos. Thanks guys! I really appreciate it!
Nadia & Ryan live in Johannesburg, but have a big heart for Stellenbosch and it’s surroundings. Their wedding ceremony took place in the mother church in Stellenbosch, which was followed by a celebration at Kanu wine estate. These two are fun, loving and just can’t stop laughing which showed me the amazing joy they share. And Nadia, you looked amazing!
I was crying so much that I just hoped all the photos would be in focus! :) Adii & Jeanne’s wedding was a beautiful ceremony of true love & lots of joy! Iaan and I had the privilege to document this special day for our friends. Here are some of my favourite photos of the day…and YES, I am getting married tomorrow and YES I am crazy, but I just wanted to get some photos on the blog for them before I dash of with my husband to be :)
Jayson & Lézanne have been dating since high school…it all started in the maths class! :)
Their wedding was a beautiful celebration of love and joy at the gorgeous River Place Estate in Johannesburg. The wedding was held in a stone chapel on the estate and followed by a reception on the deck right next to the river. Across the river you could hear the sounds of the jazz band.
I loved the soft romantic details and a big thank you to all the girls from MonCheri Weddings for a beautiful day!
