Part 2….if you missed Part 1, have a look HERE.
Lene and Henk’s wedding was one of those that seem like it’s out of a fairytale! The two of them are PERFECT for one another and everything around their day was perfect too. Previously you might have read that one of my favourite colours is white. Well, when I walked into their reception venue all I saw was white AWESOMENESS. I kinda freaked out. It was just so gorgeous! Their wedding decor was combinations of white and cream elegance! Something any photographer would dream of! And then to top it all, Lene and Henk are just fabulous people. It was a pure joy to photograph their wedding.
Iaan and I got to know Monique and André over a lovely bowl of pasta in Stellenbosch and I have to say, they are some of the most generous and friendly people I’ve ever met. When they asked me to photograph their wedding I was thrilled!
Over the months of preparation, Mounique kept me up to date with all the details of the day. Their dream day was a very relaxed, yet romantic event, with friends and family in the Franschhoek valley. And that is exactly what it was. They had their wedding outside in a festive style. The flowers and details were beautiful and the colours very rich and tasteful.
Part 2 of Andy & Victoria’s wedding at Vrede en Lust in Franschhoek.
Victoria and Andy met in a restaurant in London. They were both in the restaurant business and have a great love good food and wine.
Their wedding was a classical, gorgeous celebration at one of my favourite venues in the winelands, Vrede en Lust. While Victoria was getting her hair and make-up done, I got to shoot her amazing Jimmy Choo shoes. I have admitted this before, but beautiful shoes make me super excited! And these ones were to die for! Sophisticated elegance in a gorgeous cream coloured shoe! ‘Perfection’ is the only word that comes to mind!
Mary-Anne and Matt had a gorgeous garden party for a wedding. The wedding was a morning event followed by a whole day party in Mary-Anne’s parent’s garden in Constantia! The tables were decorated with pink and purple flowers in tea cups and other beautiful vases. The day was a celebration with friends and family from all over the world.
Meeting Mary-Anne, I could she that she had a very close relationship with her doggies. Her one doggie actually walked down the isle with her :)
My cousin and I had so much fun together as kids. I still remember the holidays we spent with them. Now we’re all grown up and we’re both married :)
My cousin, Janel is a very creative person and she decided to have a full on DIY wedding. All the details on the tables were made by her and her family. Janel printed all the menues, decorated all the sweetie tins and even made, every single little bird in the centre pieces. In stead of flowers, the tables were decorated with colourful-bird-trees and tins filled with sweeties.
By now you know I love stories. And one of the things I love to ask my clients, is to know how they met.
Victoria and Fraser has a fun story :) But let me start from the beginning. Victoria is originally from Santon, Johannesburg and Fraser from Cape Town. These two both moved to London for work and this is where they met for the first time.
I have a very soft spot for any weddings on the west coast. The west coast is on of those places where the air is blue and the open spaces go on and on. It feels so free, open and clean to me!
I had the privilege to shoot Peter and Tanja’s intimate wedding on the private beach of Jakkelsfontein. This German couple, together with the pastor and saxophonist declared their love for one another on the beach of South Africa. The clouds and sunset was indescribable. Nothing less than perfect!
I loved André and Louise’s wedding! Despite the fact that it was probably one of the hottest days of the year! They had a wonderful intimate wedding on Morgansvlei, a farm in Tulbagh. Louise is a interior decorator and she did all the co-ordination and stationary designs herself.
