Sarah and Johan’s wedding took place at Atlantic Beach Resort in Melkbosstrand. Melkbos has the most beautiful view of Table Mountain. That evening we were blessed with a gorgeous sunset too :) We took their portraits on a little beach close by. They even organised a horse to be incorporated in the photos :)
André and Monique are the two awesome people who organized my and iaan’s unforgettable honeymoon in Namibia. André is a businessman from Namibia and Monique a girl from Stellenbosch and they are getting married in March.
We met up with them at Thesen Islands in Knysna for a couple shoot. The perfect white picket fence mini town with the private beaches and little bridges made the perfect backdrop for a afternoon shoot. Thanks guys for being so much fun!
When dreams come true I cry. I just can’t help it. I was watching American idol last night and every time someone went through to the next round I caught myself with the biggest smile ever and tears rolling down my cheek. It’s just so beautiful, so exciting. I can’t help it.
This weekend I also experienced a “dream come true” story. On Saturday my sister, Lydia, was one of the student’s who’s designs was on the cavendish square fashion show. It was only one outfit, but I was so excited for her! It was the first time her designs was on a catwalk and it was so overwhelming knowing her dreams are coming true.
I’ve never been to Rawsonville before Herman and Suretha’s wedding, but now I’ll a big fan of the place. Rawesonville is a small farming community, surrounded by vineyards and green countryside. Seriously worth a weekend visit!
Herman & Suretha’s wedding took place outside on the lawn of a venue called Dwarsberg Trout Hideaway. The details were touches of rustic and countryside elements. I loved the fun atmosphere of the reception!
Last year I had the privilege to shoot Cissy & Andy’s wedding in Sweden! After the wedding, the co-ordinator e-mailed me asking if they could use my photos for their wedding publication. Obviously I was ecstatic about it :)
Cissy just sent over the layout. Even though I have no idea what the article says, I’m happy to announce my photos have been published in Sweden :)
Some of you might remember Heinrich and Christelle from their engagement shoot. They are such a sweet couple! Their wedding took place on the 4th of December. Their wedding took place at Langverwagt a countryside estate close to Cape Town. The day was filled with laughter, love and forever after :)
It was my first wedding on the Eastern Coast of South Africa. Iaan and I arrived in PE and then it was me, him and Mr GPS. Luckily we found the little town at the coast, called Kenton on Sea. I’ve heard of it many times, but never been there myself. Kenton is very close to Steven’s heart as he spend almost all his holidays there as a young boy.
This morning I started editing Hayley & Steven’s wedding photos when I came across these photos I took of Hayley’s brother and his wife, the day before Hayley’s wedding. The reason for the shoot was to get some natural shots of the two of them, since their photographer at their wedding (earlier this year) made a bit of a boo boo of their photos. To be honest, the wind and weather was not on our side and as the dark clouds started rolling in, I just prayer for better weather the next day (for Hayley & Steven’s wedding). But even thought the wind was everywhere, I just asked them to smile, walk, laugh and do the simple things that will show me a bit more of their personalities. Sometimes it’s good just to keep things simple. And then when I edited them into black and white I fell in love with the shots. Simple. Real. Honest.
At first Iaan and I decided not to have a wedding video. To be 100% honest, most wedding videos just doesn’t appeal to me. But then I reconsidered 2 weeks before our wedding. I realized this day was going to be the one day I don’t want to miss a thing. I want to experience everything! And most of all I want something that can capture the emotion in motion. Photos do capture emotion, but in a totally different way. Photos are static, but the movement of a video is something totally different.
Kate from Wedding Concepts mailed me to to book me for a small intimate wedding, she called them “a cute couple”. She was 100% right! Rosina and Ansgar are soooo cute! They are so in love, giggled and laughed all the time. When Rosina walled down the aisle, Ansgar’s eyes filled up with tears and all that emotion just made me smile. It was incredibly special to be a part of!I hope you guys had a wonderful time in South Africa.
