Pieter & Anneri | Stellenbosch

Anneri and Pieter met at University in Stellenbosch. They booked me for their wedding in March 2012 and afterwards decided that they want to do an engagement shoot as well. Funny thing is, the first three times we tried to do their shoot the weather was just no good. So we had to postpone it every time. Last week I woke up to some clouds and wind and couldn’t believe that we might have to cancel again, but this time it cleared up and we had a gorgeous shoot on Pieter’s family farm.

What a sweet couple. When two people love each other you can see it! Pieter and Anneri, I can’t wait to shoot your wedding! :) Enjoy the photos!

Kim & Dave | Oct Workshop

In the first week of October I hosted another workshop here in Stellenbosch. This time the theme for the workshop was fun, quirky and very colourful. In general I tend to go for the very simple, down to earth colours, but this time I challenged myself to do something a bit bolder. :) The funky flowers were done by Mariette from Varsliefde and the decor and stationary by Anelle from Seven Swans.

The couple, Kim and Dave, are friends of mine. They recently got engaged and I knew they would be the perfect couple for the shoot!

I also want to thank Clouds Estate for the use of their venue and Alicia for the gorgeous hair and make-up.

Holland Workshop | Part 3

The yellow inspiration from my workshop continued into a gorgeous styled couple shoot on Landgoed Te Werve. Nelleke and Marinus were the very brave models for the shoot, they got married in May 2011 and had the opportunity to once again, get dressed up and relive their special day. Thank you guys for posing for us! I really appreciate your willingness! Standing in front of 13 cameras and 3 videographers is not a joke :) You guys were perfect!

Then I want to share some very exciting news :) For the first time ever we filmed my workshop! Thank you to the fabulous team of Ryan de Wit of Unicorn Wedding Films for the gorgeous movie! You can view the movie at the bottom of the post. Enjoy!

Nina & Phil | Munich

Nina and Phil contacted me before we came to Europe, asking if I could photograph a ‘year after’ shoot for them. Nina and Phil are both Austrian wedding photographers, but they also specialize in interior shots.

On the day of the shoot it was their one year anniversary, as well as Nina’s 30th birthday, which made the shoot even more special! We did the shoot at BMW world in Munich, what a spectacular building! (If you haven’t been there, you have to pay it a visit when you’re in Munich) After it started raining, we moved indoors and saw the cutest little BMW car! Apparently it’s one of the first BMW’s ever build. Nina & Phil even had a opportunity to sit inside. So cute!

As you can see these pics are the first ‘big’ blog pictures I’m blogging :) We’re currently working on a new website for me, but for now at least you can see the pictures bigger than before :) enjoy!

Mario & Demi | Stellenbosch

Last week I had the privilege to meet Demi & Mario. They are a fabulous couple from Bloemfontien, who have booked me for their wedding later this year. They were down in Cape Town for a little break and so we did their engagement shoot here in the forrest, in Stellenbosch. Lovely lashes, lovely smiles, super sweet! x

Abi & James | Cape Town

Abi and James visited South Africa a few weeks ago to meet all the service providers for their up and coming wedding in December. While they were here, it was the perfect time to do an engagement shoot for them. Abi and James chose the Houtbay harbor in Cape Town. The fun colours and boats made for some fun and relaxed photographs. Photographing these two was a pure joy, as they smiled all the way!

Candice & Eugene | Stellenbosch

Today I’m introducing to you my lovely PA Candice and her husband Eugene. These two have been married for a few years, but are still so in love! At first, this shoot was supposed to be a beach-shoot. The car was packed with props and ideas but when we arrived at the beach, the wind was howling like crazy! So we turned around and came back to Stellenbosch. Even though the beach didn’t work out, I’m sooo happy we could still catch the gorgeous sunset light – my absolute favourite to shoot in!

Oh and isn’t she the luckiest girl! She got that little sports car for Christmas! Go Eugene!!

*Just a little side note: Candice will be in the office while iaan and I am in the USA for the next couple of weeks. So if you have any enquiries, changes to your coffee table book layouts etc, Candice and Adri will be there to help you :)

Lila & Johan | Stellenbosch

Just by the sound of her emails I knew she was going to be a sweetheart. And I was right. Lila is a total sweetie! I met Lila and her fiancé for their engagement shoot at her parents’ home in De Zalze. We drove around the estate and picked a few fun places to shoot. The couple is both involved with winemaking, so they brought some grapes along for the shoot. I’ve never seen such big bunches in my life!!

Look out for their wedding which I’m shooting in May, by the sound of it, it’s going to be beautiful!!

Monique & André | Knysna

André and Monique are the two awesome people who organised my and iaan’s unforgettable honeymoon in Namibia. André is a businessman from Namibia and Monique a girl from Stellenbosch and they are getting married in March.

We met up with them at Thesen Islands in Knysna for a couple shoot. The perfect white picket fence mini town with the private beaches and little bridges made the perfect backdrop for an afternoon shoot. Thanks guys for being so much fun!

Following dreams | Lydia Meintjes

When dreams come true I cry. I just can’t help it. I was watching American Idol last night and every time someone went through to the next round, I caught myself with the biggest smile ever and tears rolling down my cheek. It’s just so beautiful, so exciting. I just can’t help it :)

This weekend I also experienced a “dream come true”. On Saturday my sister, Lydia, was one of the students whose designs were on the Cavendish Square fashion show. It was only one outfit, but I was so excited for her! It was the first time her designs were on a catwalk and it was so overwhelming knowing her dream is coming true.

Just a bit of background…Lydia studied a business degree at Stellenbosch and after completion, she realized it was just too boring. She needed to be creative, be inspired and live her dream. With the support of our awesome parents, she moved to Cape Town and is currently studying fashion design. She is completing her final year and even though we don’t know what the future holds, we are expectant and excited!

It was a privilege and honor to be at my sister’s first (of many) fashion show. I believe she’s going to be world-famous :) and know this is only the beginning of an exciting road!

Lyds you rock!! Love you loads!! x
