Apart form the serious black and white photos I took in Paris (my previous post), I also enjoyed the following colour ones.

Paris in Black & White

When you walk in the streets of Paris you understand why so many pictures of Paris are in black and white. The city is such a classic and it just calls out for the basic of basics…black and white.

Traveling

“Travel like Gandhi, with simple clothes, open eyes and an uncluttered mind” Kathrine Naido, SAA employee

Here is a little bit out of my diary from my recent trip to France and Portugal:

“Traveling opens your eyes, it challenges your perceptions and pre-conceived ideas. It changes your views on the world. And makes you ask many questions.

When you travel it stimulates your creativity. It makes you think about things beyond your every day life. It takes you out of your safe place and shows you a bigger picture of what the world is like.

To travel is to learn. It’s to learn about other people and about the world, but mostly it teaches you about yourself.

Time out.

Today I’m leaving for France! This though is still not real to me as I’m still sitting in front of my computer..trying to tie up all the loose ends of the last few weddings. The past few weeks I’ve been thinking about how I can change the way I do things to make it more efficient and [...]

Festive Christmas

This year I was privileged to be together with my mom, dad, sister and grandparents. For the past 2 years my parents were in Dubai for Christmas and it just wasn’t the same as having Christmas at home. We celebrate Chistmas on the evening of the 24th. Last night my mom made a delicious dinner for us and we shared some gifts. It was such a blessed time! (My mom is the best cook in the world! And she does it with style!)

Family Time

The past month, I’ve had the privilege of having my family here from Dubai. My parents have been staying there for about 3 years now.  Last Saturday the 4 of us spend some time together, which made me realize how special family is. I’m so privileged to have the best dad, mom and sister in the world! I took the camera [...]

Slow food market

On saturdays there is the greatest little slow food (fresh goods) market in Stellenbosch at Bosman’s Crossing. The market is on from 9am to 2 if I’m correct and they sell lots of food goodies, such as olive oil, organic honey, fruits & vegetables, pestos and sauces, fresh waffles and crêpes, sushi and wine. It’s a great outing [...]

Arabic Architecture

This is my last week in Dubai and then it’s back to South Africa for me. I’m quite looking forward to starting the next season of photography. But this last week I’ll just be chilling out with my mom in Dubai. The other day my mom took me to the Bastakia in Bur Dubai which is one of the city’s most picturesque heritage sites…it was around 50 degrees outside with high humidity, so these photos are just a few ones I could take before I almost fainted :)

Self portraits in the streets of London

Yesterday was my last day in London and I absolutely loved it. On my way back to the hotel I went a bit crazy…
