I woke up yesterday with a big smile! I sat in bed, I picked up my laptop and then after a few hours I realized it was 14:00! I totally lost track of time, all I was thinking was date, venue, catering, flowers, make-up…for the first time I was on the other side! I realized I’m going to be a bride! :)
If you haven’t heard the news yet…Iaan and I got engaged yesterday!!!!! (I’m very tempted to add more exclamation marks :) Wow, so much happend in the past 24 hours…crazy would be an understatement. But I’m sure all the girls are dieing to hear the story, so here it goes:
Iaan and I have been together for 8 years. We started dating at school and we’ve had fun ever since! We are sooo the same, and then on the other hand sooo different. I love spending time with him and from the start I knew he was the one!
For the past week iaan and I have been very fortunate to travel through Germany. Over the coming week I’ll be shooting a wedding as well as a couple shoot here in München. But before I post some photos I wanted to share a little experience we had, that was not that fortunate and in plain english simply no fun! On the 18th of May, iaan and I left Cape Town, South Africa for München, Germany
When I ask iaan for a reason for his random doings, he normally replies with this statement: “Because I can”. Now don’t take this statement wrong, it doesn’t have anything to do with being arrogant, it just means : “I don’t always need a though through reason for doing something.”
Today is a very special day, mom your turning 50! I know you read my blog posts every morning, so I thought I’d write you a little something on your special day. Mom you’re wonderful, loving and kind. You’ve always supported me, encouraged me and believed in me. You were always there for me and still are. You’re my best friend and my biggest fan. You’re my constant reminder of what life is really about. Family.
Just incase you’re a bride or a potential client, let me just clarify this post: I’m a photographer, but I’m also a girl that enjoys life. I blog about my work, but I also blog about my life. I blog about the things I go through and the way I think. For me work and life is all intertwined, there is no separation. My life is part of my job and my job part of my life. I am my job and my job is me.
I have this really bad habit to wake up in the morning and checking my emails on my iphone before I get out of bed. Every morning I have the same question. Why do you do that? You should rather wake up, get ready for the day and then check emails when you walk into the office. But for some reason checking emails in bed prepares me for my day ahead. I know it sounds strange, but I like to plan ahead and know what’s coming. By glancing through my inbox I know what to expect before I walk into the office. This morning there was a HUGE smile on my face!
fter almost 24 hours of traveling the last thing I thought I’d do, was to sit in front of my computer and start typing. But I just couldn’t resist. I have been away from home for the past 3 weeks. The reason for my travels was to attend the world’s largest wedding & portrait photography conference & trade show, called WPPI 2010.
Tomorrow, the 4th of March will be my 26th birthday. It will be my first birthday away from home. It’s so strange to think I’ll only start celebrating the day here in the US, and all my friends and family will already be half way through the day in South Africa.
Today is a big day in South African history! We celebrate the release of a wonderful, forgiving, humble, kind and revolutionary man. A father to our nation, Mr Nelson Mandela, known to us as Madiba.
