Yesterday I received this letter from Jean, Cari’s mom. I was speechless, not to mention that I literally had a tear in my eye! I asked Jean’s permission to post this letter, because through her words I realized how special it must be to give your daughter away in marriage, but also how important the photos are to tell the story after the day has past.
Thank you Jean for taking the time to write me this email! I can’t explain to you how much it means to me! You definitely made my day!
Cari and Lawrence live in Johannesburg, but decided on the Stellenbosch winelands for their wedding. Cari and I have been chatting over the phone about their day and I realized once again what a big story it is to organize your wedding from another city :) Not to mention another country! Cari is such a honey and she phoned me yesterday just to say thank you for sharing in their big day and making them feel relaxed in front of the camera! What a great compliment. People like Cari & Lawrence really make my job worth while!
While editing Llewellyn and Getha’s wedding I found a few fun shots of us behind the scenes. Having Henry there made everything so much more relaxed and during all the events he managed to capture some cool moments.
Henry Chen, Iaan and I drove into Jacobsbay the afternoon of the 18th of December. It was a windy but sunny day and the skies were super blue. It’s something I absolutely love about the west coast. Blue skies! In the little town were white washed houses scattered everywhere, overlooking the ocean. In the distance [...]
To see the first part of the wedding visit my previous post.
The photos everyone has been waiting for is finally here! As mentioned in my previous post I had the privelage to photography Ryan Graham’s another wedding photographer’s wedding on the 17th of December.
17 – 21 December I shot 4 weddings in 5 days! That week was definitely the craziest week of 2009. But it was fun all the way. Yes sure it was hectic and very tiring, but definitely worth it! On Wednesday 17th of December I shot Ryan Graham’s (a phenomenal wedding photographer in Cape Town) wedding.
Today is Christmas! One of my favourite days of the year! I hope you have a wonderful blessed time with your friends and family. Have a wonderful time! x
If you get back home after a shoot and edit all the images straight away, you have to know: This was a GOOD shoot! And this is exactly what I did yesterday after coming back form Getha and Llewellyn’s e-session.
Llewellyn is the friend and videographer of Ricky & Marinelle (this is still on my very old blg :), one of my first weddings in Yzerfontein. I met Llewellyn at the wedding and we just clicked. He has such a good sense for business and is a phenomenal entrepreneur
As a photographer and designer I’ve realized I see things differently than my clients. I believe it’s my responsibility not only to only take good pictures for them, but also to lead them through the process of what to do with the photos. I recently decided to add about 4 square prints with their cd of photos.
