Corne & Buddy celebrated their wedding on Beyerskloof wine estate on the 31st of January. Corne’s mom Esme has a very good eye for detail and she made all the decorations for the day. The theme for the wedding was very fresh and colorful.
In general I prefer to work with very neutral spaces and I’m constantly on the lookout for a “blank canvas” where I can place the couple so that the focus of the shot are on them. For this shoot I used the field across the venue.
Christine & Mark celebrated their wedding in the garden of Steenberg Estate on the Constantia wine route. It was an morning wedding, which was followed by a five course meal in the Catharina Restaurant. The decor was very festive with beautiful colours and balloons hanging from the celling.
Today I realized that the world is waiting for no one. You either going to sit, try and get all your ducks in a row and then when you wake up see that you’re behind again or you just have to try and juggle all your balls while you’re running the race. Ok, now that [...]
Leanie and Neil tied the knot in a wine cellar in Franschoek on the 10th of January. The couple have been living in London for the past few years and when I visited Europe in June 2008, I was fortunate enough to shoot an engagement session of them in the streets of London.
When Adel and Juan booked me, I immediately became excited. I knew this was going to be a dream wedding and that they were going to be a fun couple to photograph.
What a great wedding to start a year of with! Becky and Paul work in the wedding industry in the UK, they own a florist in the UK called floral explosion. As with many of the oversees clients, I never met them before the wedding.
I was privileged to second shoot with Jean-Pierre Uys in the end of last year. This was the first of two weddings I did with him so far. It was great fun! And great to shoot a wedding with another professional photographer. If I have more off time I would defiantly do this more often!
In december I had 1 week of holiday with my family in Herrold’s Bay. I had the opportunity to do a few shots with my cousin Jaco. He is such a sweet little thing! He is almost two years old. I must admit it was quite challenging taking portraits of him. He was very busy and I just had to snap away. All these shots were naturally posed and just shot as he moved.
Mitzi and Berto got married in Stellenbosch on the 15th of December. Their ceremony was held in the United Church in Stellenbosch and the reception was held in the wine cellar of the Alto wine estate. I loved their flowers! Done by Leipzig Floral design.
