Ian & Liz (Allee Bleue, Franschoek)

Ian & Liz have been living in the UK for quite some time now, but when it came to their big day there was no place like home! Liz and Ian met me a few months ago when they came over to plan their wedding day. With the help of wedding co-ordinator Michelle (form Allee Bleue) everything worked out perfectly. The wedding ceremony was held in a little stone church in Villiersdorp. The church looked brand new, but the minister explained to me that it has burned down 3 times before! They just rebuild it and was adding more to the building as they can afford it. The ceremony was opened by an African Choir and that african voice inside of me was touched. The choir was all the way form Guguleto a township close to Cape Town. The choir preforms at weddings and other events for charity. Loved it!

Hayley & Tristan (Lanzerac)

I’m definitely not good at telling jokes, to be honest I totally suck. As a result of this lack, I have to rely on the couple to bring the smiles to the party. With Hayley this was no problem! I don’t know if it was only the nerves or her bubbly personality, but as soon as I mentioned the words: “Hayley give me a smile…” She burst into giggles…SO sweet! It was such a pleasure doing your photos guys. I hope you enjoy these…

It’s a boy.

I was busy cleaning up my desktop and then I found some of these pics. I love them and I realized I never posted them. So here they are. You might remember the pregnancy shoot I did with Marina some time ago. This is her little boy a week after his birth.

Anli & Ruan met in Stellenbosch, so it was the perfect place to do their engagement shoot. We started out in the famous “Laan” and thereafter looked around town for something different. I found this amazing blue door. And I fell in love with it!

Janine & Jayson (Le Bac, Paarl)

I had so much fun with these two! They were constantly laughing and enjoying everything on their day. Janine looked absolutely drop dead gorgeous and I loooved her veil. Classic and elegant! Her dress was made by her mom and I have to say what a great job she did. It fit Janine like a glove!

Frieda & JJ (couple shoot)

Frieda and JJ booked me for their 10 year anniversary. Frieda specifically asked me to do the shoot in April, hoping that the trees would have turned into all the autumn colours, but unfortunately it was not exactly the case. Despite this we got some beautiful shots in the vineyard and surroundings.

Anke & Chauncey (Hidden Valley, Stellenbosch)

One afternoon I received a call from my friend, Izette, the owner Leipzig. She explained that a client booked them for their floral design and that Chauncey (the groom) was in South Africa for only one week and he had to organize his whole wedding before he went back to Germany. In their meeting, Izette asked him who their photographer was going to be. He said they were not going to have one!

Michelle & Chris (Little Stream)

Vibrant Colors and having fun was definitely at the top of Michelle and Chris’s list for their wedding day. The venue gave me the feeling of a enchanted forrest, filled with trees and greenery wherever you went.

A few tips on getting your business out there

I spoke to a few up and coming photographers the past few weeks and they all had similar questions regarding how to get your name out there. How do you start. How do you get customers etc.

Antoinette & Allen (Klein Parys, Paarl)

When Antoinette told me that their wedding reception was going to be outside under the stars, I was a bit nervous. What if it rained? What if there as a howling wind? But as calm as can be, she assured me that nothing was going to go any different than what she planned. And it was exactly like that!
