I love change, new things and taking risks. But when I say I love risks, I mean business risks, new ideas and just jumping in to see if it works. Not jumping off a bridge or racing down a mountain with a bike, no that is iaan! not me :)
Today in 90 days, I’ll be mrs Van Niekerk. I just had to make a post of this..it’s short, but super sweet! I found these pictures of iaan and me in Berlin on my computer. We tried to take some self portraits with the SLR camera and it seems to be quite a difficult thing. Almost every single shot was out of focus. But that was part of the fun.
Today I don’t feel like using words, only pictures… enjoy.
Love from Stockholm.
For the past few days I’ve been in London. Lodon has a great vibe and seeing that it’s summer here, people are out on the streets. The pubs are full, all the little restaurants have tables outside and people are enjoying the sun. I on the other hand still have my jersey with me, because in my opinion this is not real summer :) But it’s still fun to be outside.
I saw Situ’s rings at the Design Indaba conference about 4 years ago and I knew this was what I would love for my engagement ring one day. Iaan also knew, but wasn’t 100% sure if I still wanted it, so he decided to ask me with another ring instead and then get the exact design after the engagement. I was very happy about his decision, because 1. Our engagement was a total surprise for me and 2. I could design my own ring. Make sure the shape was perfect, the colour was right and most important that the ring fit me :)
I have to admit, I’m not a big sports fan, but during the soccer world cup I realized how extremely important sport is. I saw how it can build a nation, change perception and most of all help you to get outside of your “I’m so cool, I don’t do silly things” box and just have fun!!
Since the launch of my first 2 workshops, I’ve been receiving many emails from Photographers from all over South Africa. I know that you guys are waiting for the Cape Town and Johannesburg Workshops, as well as Durban and Nelspruit.
I’m very very excited to announce that I’ll be in New York & London next month…so I’m putting together something called: FUNshops. I decided to re-”brand” my workshops, cause essentially they are not normal workshops. They are totally informal, totally fun and a place where, as Jasmine Star says: You have to leave your ego at home! So the new word on the block is FUNshops!
How do you pick a wedding date? Do you get a fussy feeling about a certain date? Do you look which one is available for the venue of your dreams or do you just take your diary and pick one? I don’t know if there is one specific way one should go about this, but this is what I did…
I’m a big believer and supporter of dreams, business and crazy ideas. I just love them! But then on the other hand, the most exciting part comes when they become reality.
Yesterday I saw a great quote. I read somewhere on Facebook or the net (sorry I can’t remember who’s quote it was) “Don’t tell me the sky is the limit, there is footprints on the moon!” and that really made me think…What I saw in that quote was 1. Don’t be limited by other people’s thinking 2. You have to do something to prove that it’s possible.
