Some of you might have seen my post on Facebook and saw that I moved from Canon to Nikon.

So now you all want to know how it happened and why I moved. Before I tell the story, please let me just say this. With this post I’m not intending to offend anyone or slander any brands, but purely share my experience.

I’m a loyal brand evangelist. When I love a product or service, I always talk about it.

So weeks ago, something happened I never expected…

We were just about to start another KIKI TV show when I received the email. I was so excited! Some of my Iphone photos were chosen to be exhibited in Johannesburg!

Just the week before, Iaan forwarded an article to me from Mark Forrest’s blog about the first ever Iphoneography exhibition taking place in Santon, Johannesburg. As you all know, I’m a HUGE Apple fan and I love (ok maybe I’m more addicted to) my Iphone. I love all the functions, but the camera and instant editing rocks my world!

One confession coming up…ok maybe a few. (Just to give you some background, we’re on our way to Paris on the Thalys train and we’re going about 300km per hours, with free wifi, so I’m smiling all the way! I really wished we had trains like this in South Africa! )

So back to the confessions…I wanted to blog everyday while in Europe, but that one didn’t happen. So now, I’m actually behind on some blogging, which is not ideal. But at least know know there are some blog posts coming your way :) So confession nr 1: I’m behind on the blog.

Whenever anyone starts their own business, I get very excited! I fell in love with business over the years, as I have experienced that it can be a very creative adventure. As a business owner, you have to think of new ideas, interesting strategies and creative solutions to tell the world about your product or service.

The journey of creating your own brand and building it from the ground up, is a very challenging and fulfilling one. When Liz asked me to be a photo contributor for her new business Still The Sea, I was flattered!

Today we reached the one year mark with The Pretty Blog. I can’t believe it’s been a full year!

I have to thank my awesome partner Nicola for all the amazing work she has been doing for the blog. I love working with her! They say you have to choose the people you work with wisely, even more carefully than you choose a life partner and I have to agree, this was a match made in heaven! Nicola is a blessing beyond my wildest dreams. I know this is only the first year of many more to come! Thank you Nicola for all your patience! For your hard work and you’re enthusiasm! The blog could not have been this awesome without you!

As you know I’m a huge fan of pretty things, bridal inspiration and gorgeous ideas! Louise & Andre’s wedding was one of those! This morning I received Wedding Concept’s latest newsletter and in the newsletter I read about the top 30 photos they selected for 2010. I was excited to see that four of my photos were selected!

ome time ago I introduced you to my sister, Lydia. She is currently finishing her studies as a fashion designer in Cape Town. People say we look like twins. We’re not sure about that one, but we have many similarities. We love pretty things. We love fashion and interior decoration. We love holidays, but we are both really hard workers. We follow our dreams and we love our families. We’re super similar, but in the same sentence we’re also sooo different! :)
