Botswana: part 3

The island experience was probably the one thing I will NEVER EVER forget in my life! Just to give you an idea: No bathrooms! No electricity! Just a little hanging shower from a tree! And luckily an awesome chef called Royal!

The first morning we headed out on the boat at around 6am to catch the sunrise. I’ve never seen anything like that. It was totally beautiful! Seeing the colors change on the horizon..a little golden ball appearing and then higher, higher, LENS flair! WOW! Absolutely gorgeous!

Botswana: Part 2

After 2 days in Mankwe lodge we drove to the Mboma Boat station in the Okavango Delta (through Moremi Game Reserve). In Moremi we saw our first lions and not just off there in the distance, super close up!

Botswana: Part 1

Finally the Botswana post are here!!! Iaan and I were super privileged to enjoy a full week in three different lodges in Botswana in June. Llewellyn (the groom of the 18th of December 2009) invited us to visit their lodges and take some photos of the surroundings for promotional material.

Now firstly I have to confess I’m not the “roughing it” type! I really like my hot shower and hairdryer in the mornings and during my daily routine I spend about 8-10 hours on my mac. But that week was right on the other side of those daily activities. And I absolutely loved it!! The beauty of Botswana, the friendly people and the peace and quiet captured my heart big time!Iaan and I flew to Johannesburg and from there we flew to Maun, Botswana. The plane only had about 30 seats and the airport is super small! The baggage gets loaded onto a truck (from the plane) and then it gets placed on tables for the passages to collect. It’s all manual there!

Alexé & Raynie (Oudtshoorn)

There are a few combinations that make amazing photos. One combination would be a couple super in love (and not shy to show it) + great light. This is exactly what I had at Alexé and Raynie’s wedding.

Alexé and Raynie are good friends of mine from church. They decided a few months ago that the 19th of July was going to be their wedding date. They got engaged and from there on they were making plans for their special day (eventhough they did not have any money to pay for anything, they were just trusting that the Lord would provide.)

Vintage Preset

Sorry brides…another post for photographers :) I had a few requests to re-load the “vintage” preset. Apparently I did something funny and it wasn’t working properly. So to make up for my stupid mistake I’ve now added 3 vintage presets. I hope you like them! For all the others I’ve uploaded as well as the instructions, please see my previous post.

The photography workshop is here!

I’m very excited to announce my first workshop! Thank you to everyone that filled in the online survey. I really really appreciate it! You’re all stars!

In the online survey I saw that there was quite a big need for group sessions, as well as private lessons. The first group workshop will take place on Friday night the 28th and continue on the Saturday the 29th of August. If you would rather like to book me for a private session, you’re welcome to see the details below and send me an email.

Before I give you the When? Where? Why? of the workshop, I would firstly like to tell everyone that this will NOT be a “7 steps to success class”, nor will it be a “quick fix” for your business. I believe we all are capable of success and greatness, all you need is the right tools and lots of encouragement and support! (thanks mom and dad for all your support and help! You are the best!)
