One of the best parts of my jobs is that I get to travel. Shooting wedding in other parts of the world is always a huge highlight on my calendar. I still think South Africa is one of the most beautiful places in the world, but photographing in Europe is always an enormous treat.
Two months ago, Iaan and I visited Germany, Holland and the UK. (We’re actually back again, and I’m currently sitting here in our friends apartment in Munich, blogging this wedding, but that’s a total different story :)
Amongst our travel plans here in Europe in July, was to photograph Katja and Chad’s wedding in Quakenbrück, a very small, country side town in the north of Germany.
Chad is a NBA basketball player and comes from the US, but he is now based in Germany. His team calls him ‘big red’. And from the photos you can probably see why :) Katja is a super sweet girl, with the most gorgeous eyes! And the two of them make a really cute couple.
Their wedding was held at their local church and the reception at a friend’s restaurant in the country side. But one of the highlight of the day, for me, was the location they chose for their photos, a real German Castle outside Quakenbrück. I also loved their tiny wedding car. Can I please order one?
