On the 17th of December I shot Sarah & Johan’s wedding and the morning of the 18th, iaan and I flew to Nelspruit, Mpumalanga to shoot Alta and Christie’s wedding. Christie picked us up at the airport and we drove to Kaapse Hoop, a small village at the top of the mountain, with a very interesting history.

Kaapse Hoop has a very interesting history. It started as a mining town and later became a very exclusive little holiday village. It’s also one of the only places in South Africa where there are still some wild horses running around (unfortunately we didn’t see any that weekend ).

Kaapse Hoop is really high up in the mountain and the mist is apparently a regular visitor. On the 18th of December it visited again to such an extend that I could hardly see the couple :) We went to a field to take their photos and every now and again the mist lifted for me to take a few shots. It was a challenge, but I love the effect the mist has on the photos.

Also just so you know, this was my last wedding for 2010…hello 2011 :)

Your photo’s are so crisp and clear – I love them, but most of all I love the way you capture their personalities. It is carried through from the choice of dress, to the flowers to the wedding venue and the colours. The expressions on their faces. Really lovely. It feels as though we know the couple!
