We’re home. Yes, I’m saying WE, cause we’re now two under one roof :). It’s a strange feeling at first. Feels like we’re still on holiday, but the best is when I realise he’s here to stay. Forever!
After our wonderful wedding day, which I can honestly say was the best day in my entire life, we flew to Mauritius for a week. Apart from all the other great choices we made in service providers for our wedding, Mauritius was probably one of best choices for us for our honeymoon. And to top it all, it was exactly like the pictures in the magazines and brochures. (You know what I mean… you see some photos and you get there and it’s just not the same, well, this was just plain AWESOME!) Sugar Beach Resort Mauritius is definitely recommendable!
We sipped Pina Colada’s, read books and just chilled on the beach! It was seriously PARADISE! Here are a few of my island snaps all taken with a Canon Point and shoot :) I didn’t feel like taking my 5D, so I just took the point and shoot. More on part 2 of the honeymoon to come :)

Ag nice!! Dis pragtige foto’s regardless waarmee dit geneem is! Dis beautiful; Sit n mens sommer in daai lui lekker vakansie gees… En julle lyk baie verlief :) Baie sweet !
Lovely photos! Looks like you truly had fun! If you used a Canon point and shoot – is the stragic ‘blurry-ness’ of the photo, photoshoped? Just keen to find out how you did it? :)
Looks delicious! You’ve just inspired me to get more creative (shooting and editing) with my point and shoot! :)
Great photos, amazing what a pro can do with a point-and-shoot :)
BTW, have you used the CHDK firmware that is available for a lot of the Canon point and shoots, allows you to shoot RAW etc (and do time-lapse)? I have never had a compatible Canon for it but it’s supposed to be great.
Glad you enjoyed the honeymoon!
Hi Jim, no I haven’t used it, but I heard about it. Will check it out :) Thanks!
@Catherine, go girl! :)
Hi Mariko, nope just the colour enhancement was edited with Lightroom. The blur effect was done with the preset on the camera called “tilt shift”. It’s pretty cool!! But quite tricky to get the right place in focus :) The new Canon point and shoots comes out with this function under the “scenes” setting.
So beautiful Christine! Glad you had a great honeymoon!
Congratulations !
Great photographs of the beach and sunset.
Wow brings back memory’s, we also had our honeymoon on this very beach, we stayed at La Pirogue next door to Suger beach, it is defiantly the best beach in the whole of the island. And we also left the SLR at home. p.s love the one of Iaan in silhouette with the splash… very cool. p.s i’m not sure if you are aware but both resorts offer a 5 year anniversary package.. Ill def be going back but 5 years just seems way to long.
Lovely pics :-) looks like you had an amazing time! Which cannon point and shoot did use?
