My home for the next 2 weeks | London

I love change, new things and taking risks. But when I say I love risks, I mean business risks, new ideas, dreaming without limits and just jumping in to things to see if it works. Not jumping off a bridge or racing down a mountain with a bike, no that is iaan! not me :)

One of these risks I took was to plan a workshop in New York City as well as London. Unfortunately there was not enough interest in my NY workshop, so I had to cancel it. I was a bit down after I realized it wasn’t going to work, but then I picked up my head, looked at myself in the mirror and then I started laughing. I realized I’m a bit of a crazy kid. WHO IN THE WORLD advertises a workshop thousands of miles around the world only a few weeks before and then expect people to pitch up. Well, I tried and it didn’t work (this time :) so better luck next time..and now? Well, I’m in London and my NY flight left this morning without me :) I decided to stay in London for the next 2 and a half weeks. My cousin & her husband was so kind to open up their home to me and now I’m sitting here in London, with some girly music, Internet, my mac and I’m a happy girl!

I thought this might be a good time to 1. Force myself to sit still 2. Answer all those emails that I’ve missed while traveling for the past few weeks 3. Meet some cool people in London 4. Spend some time planning my own wedding 5. Have extra time to plan my workshop for London (Yep, the London one is still on and bookings are going great!) 6. And this is probably the most important one…RELAX! And take life a bit slower than I have been the past 12 months :)

I hope to write more too, I’ve really missed writing. Even though I’m super bad at spelling and grammar! I have to admit, that is my weak spot, along with ice cream off course :) Me and my spell checker are super tight…and if he doesn’t pick up my mistakes I hope you don’t either:)

One of the things I’m working on while in London is the pieces for The Pretty Blog where I’ll be sharing how iaan and I plan our wedding. So keep an eye out on The Pretty Blog.

{Here are a few pics of London, I love black and white photos. Especially old buildings. Black and white just say some things so beautifully!}

    I think… I might’ve been more sad that NY Funshop was cancelled :) but things happen for a reason and even though it might’ve been something you didn’t want… it’s for the best in the end somehow. I love your personality and your attitude! You’re an amazing person Christine and I really admire you for it. By the way, wow wow wow… stunning images!!!

Your first official overseas workshop, man I am so proud to be a part of it, Cannot wait for all your love, energy and enthusiasm to fill my pages so I can study away and learn to be better at being a photographer. Excited much?! YES!

    It does make me sad you had to cancel the NY Funshop for lack of interest. For the record I was very VERY interested =). I did spread the word around, but some photogs here in NY at least may not be familiar with your work, so I will suggest your FB page to all my photogs friends in NY/NJ/PA/CT to see if next time you get enough people to have the workshop here! Love you work and you positive attitude. Enjoy London! =)

So Christene, my raad is…geniet die stilte…’dinktyd’ is maar skaars. Jy verdien dit anyway. Ek LOVE UK, en moet ong. nog wag tot Feb voor ek weer kan gaan. So geniet dit vir ons. Die Kikki-projek is hope fun..een van die highlights in my week!
