Some of you might remember the free wedding give away I had. Well, here it is. Petra & Barri got married in the Kalahari desert. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen!
Petra and Barri told me about their wedding and their farm and what it was going to look like, but never did I imagine such an amazing experience!
I first met Petra when she attended my first workshop. She is also a wedding photographer . (I wish I could link this post to her blog, but she doesn’t have one yet…I suggested she get one asap and she promised me it will be up in the coming year. So keep a look out for Petra’s work.)
So..we arrived on Barri’s parents farm and this is something I have to admit, people from the country side are so friendly! I loved being there. You walk in, meet everyone and all of a sudden you’re part of the family for that weekend. It was awesome! The people, the place and the food, but the best of all was the amazing landscape!
The wedding took place on their farm, on a red sand pan. I don’t even know if that is the right word, but I think it is :) The wedding was literally in the middle of no where! Just to give you an idea, they only started having mobile reception there a few months ago! Seriously! No telephone lines! No electricity… they use a generator. They actually made a joke to say if the world is coming to an end we can just to move there, cause it will take a few more years before it will affect them. :)

Petra, soos ons almal geweet het – was jy ‘n STUNNING bruid. Julle kleure en klere het perfek in gepas in onse Kalahari. Julle omgewing is asemrowend en ek kan nie wag om weer Augustus daar te kom kuier nie. Mag julle altyd gelukkig wees daar tussen die rooi duine!

What a beautiful wedding location and setup, WOW!
Haai Christine! Is ‘n vriendin van die Coetzee neefs van jou. Ek woon in Bloemfontein en is ‘n huge aanhanger van jou werk.Ek is ook fotograaf en wil beter en beter en beter word!!! Nog nie naastenby soveel troues soos jy gedoen nie, but I’m getting there! Die troue is awesome en dit is presies die tiepe mens wat ek is…ek love different and unexpected. Ek trou in Sept die jaar en bid bid bid dat my troue ANDERS sal wees…en dat die mense God sal voel .
Christine die foto’s is pragtig! As mens dit alles in sulke mooi prentjies sien dan is mens ekstra trots om te weet jyt aandeel daarin gehad! Marnie jy kan vir Lizette Knoetze kontak oor die spyseniering by 0824151579. Alle gange was in die vorm van happies/canapes bedien, behalwe die sop en broodgang. Dit was ongelooflik lekker en baie mooi voorgesit! Die feit dat dit die middel van nerens was het gevra vir improvisasie en die resultaat, anders en ongelooflik lekker!
