Gemma has the sweetest smile. When she looks at me I can see she’s actually a little shy, but that’s what makes me love her so much! She is just Gemma, no one else. As soon as Cobus becomes a part of the photos she forgets all about the camera staring at her and she looks at him. He’s her safe place and he makes her feel at home.

I think this is what any relationship should be like. Your partner should make you feel at ease, make you feel comfortable and most of all, make you feel loved. This is exactly what Cobus does.

I had the privilege of meeting Gemma and Cobus, as well as do an engagement shoot for them, when they visited South Africa to check out their wedding venue last year.

I find the story of how they met quite cute. Cobus is South African and Gemma is an English Girl, from Guernsey Island. Cobus moved over to Guernsey for work. One day he arrived at a work function and a few girls knew he was from South Africa, so they told Gemma to go say hi to him in Afrikaans (The girls knew she could say a few Afrikaans words, because she has met quite a few South African people). She went over to start a conversation… and  today they’re happily married :)

I hope you guys had a wonderful honeymoon and hope so see you in Guernsey one day.

Thanks to Monique from Get Knotted for assisting me!
