My second wedding for this year was Frances and Paul’s wedding at the exquisite Vrede en Lust estate in Franschhoek. The wedding was co-ordinated by Hannes from Wedding Concepts and to say the least, he did a super fine job! The details and the table settings was nothing but perfect! All the flowers and decor was done by my friends over at Leipzig. One of South Africa’s finest floral companies.

I arrived and met up with the girls while they were all still pampering and finishing up for the big event. And the tears were very close to everyone’s eyes, but there is just nothing else you can do when you see such a beautiful bride dressed in white and on her way to marry the man of her dreams! One of my favourite things was Fran’s veil. It had so much detail and complimented the dress so well!

Over at the guys the ties were being done and jokes were flying around. I went over for a few minutes to get a few preparation shots. And then something happened, that I has never happened to me before. While I was shooting I heard a crash to the floor. There Pri (my assistant) was lying on the floor! She fainted! I’ve never had such a big fright in my life, but luckily one of the guests was a doctor and she helped Pri. Nothing a can of Coca Cola can’t fix :)  So this is just a tip for brides and bridesmaids: Please eat something and drink enough water especially if you’re having a summer wedding!
