Letters like this make me cry

Yesterday I received this letter from Jean, Cari’s mom. I was speechless, not to mention that I literally had a tear in my eye! I asked Jean’s permission to post this letter, because through her words I realized how special it must be to give your daughter away in marriage, but also how important the photos are to tell the story after the day has past.

Thank you Jean for taking the time to write me this email! I can’t explain to you how much it means to me! You definitely made my day!

Dear Christine

I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate the wonderful photographs you took on Cari’s wedding day. That day was pure magic for them and for those of us who love them dearly, and it shows in all your stunning pics. It was also the most awesome day of my life – being mother-of-the-bride is very special. I had no idea what to expect, and as the day unfolded, each experience held a new delight, a special happiness, a beautiful moment. Cari is my only daughter, and there will never be a day like that again – I will cherish the memories that your pictures will keep fresh and alive for many years to come.

And, by the way, I never knew my hands looked so old, but they have nurtured her and comforted her and applauded her achievements so it’s beautiful that you captured those moments with her as she dressed for her wedding – thank you.

I wish you every success and know that you will go from strength to strength. I will follow your blog and your career with interest.

Thank you again

Best wishes
Jean

Christine, I have been following/stalking your blog because I love to look at photographers’ websites. What a special letter to get from a mother-of-the-bride…it certainly brought tears to my eyes, especially the bit about the hands. One day I hope to see my 27 yr old daughter get married! I hope you have an amazing year and I look forward to seeing more of your work.
