This morning I walked into the office and her Adri sat with a set of reindeer horns on her head. The past week so many happy things have happened and it already feels like Christmas! I received an email from a girl from NY yesterday and she said it was snowing. In the meanwhile Stellenbosch is boiling :) It’s so strange to think that South Africans idea of Christmas is a summer holiday, spending time on the beach and having fun outside, while in other part of the world people are layering up and watching the snow fall while having a “white Christmas”. :)
This week has been a early Christmas all by itself! Yesterday I received a massive box and in it was a 32 inch flat screen TV! My dad sent it over from Dubai (as most of you know they have been staying over there for the past 4 years) My dad decided that before they come back me my sister are each receiving a TV! How awesome is that? Another blessing over December is that my parents are moving back permanently! Yes. Permanently! On Sunday I fetched my mom form the airport and my dad arrives on the 22d of December. It’s such a blessing to have them close by again! Missed them so much while over there.
Last week I also decided to sprinkle some happy dust over someone’s life and that person is Adri, the super girl behind all my editing and coffee table book layout. Adri has been working for me since beginning 2008. She started out by helping with emails and admin and since then she has mastered the way I edit my images. She is amazing and without her I would never have been able to do half what I get to do now. Adri has a passion for photography, but has never had her own Digital SLR. For the past year I borrowed my 20D to her for some shoots, but borrowing someone’s stuff is never the same as having your own. So I decided to make a plan and borrow her some money to get her camera. On Friday I surprised her with the little kit, 50D and a 50mm 1.4 (my favourite lens). Again I was thinking “Giving is sooo much better than receiving!”
I hope all of you have a very blessed time over Christmas! x

WOW! How awesome is this! Christine, you have such a big heart. Adri enjoy your gift. Blessings to you all! Have a fabulous Christmas xx
Wow Christine, you are the coolest person ever. I am so blessed to have you in my life. I learned so much from you and I’m still learning from the best. It doesn’t feel like work, I see my work as spending awesome fun time with a friend, laughing and at the same time working very hard:) Thanks again for the great gift. I can’t wait to start snapping away.
What a lucky girl you are Adri :)
Any gift given with a pure heart can only bring pleasure!

Those are really nice gifts right there! what a lucky girl she is and what a nice person you are Christine =)
I am so happy for Adri! This story brought tears to my eyes. The gift is fabulous, but it’s the relationship she has with you that is the real treasure. Merry Christmas to you, Christine, and to Adri. May God continue to bless you both with friendship and joy!
Oh, and it’s snowing in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin today and we’re expecting a bunch.
