It started out as a normal Sunday morning. I had the Saturday off and Sunday was going to be 2d day off, chilling at home, or so I though… But then my phone rang, on the other side was Sacha Waldman, a well known New York based photographer. At first I had no idea what was going on and then he explained to me that his fiancé and he were in Cape Town and they decided that they were going to get married… today! And they needed a photographer! At first I thought this was someone joking with me, but then I heard the seriousness in his voice and there I was, on my way to Cape Town to photograph their wedding!
Melanie got ready in the Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town and I did some shots of the preparations. Sacha joined later and they did all the paperwork, then we went down to the beach for the ceremony.
This was the day just before the hurricane in Cape Town, so the wind was howling and it was so extreme that at one stage I literally blew offer! But it was all good. The sun was setting and I literally had 7 minutes for couple shots. But it seems like 7 minutes is enough :)

Absolutely stunning work Christine! Love the windswept photos, and moodiness in the shots
WOW!Wat `n voorreg, en reuse komplement!
I can’t believe it. Only yesterday, i was telling my girlfriend about Sacha and how he was one of the first reasons why i loved photos. I used to cut out prints of his work and paste it next to my bed.
Seriously.
I can’t believe this.
He is one of the biggest reasons why I picked up a camera.
Congrats, Christine.
Wow, jy het die mood so ongelooflik mooi vasgevang!! Baie interessante details! En verseker ‘n huge kompliment om hul fotograaf te kon wees!
Big congrats on this and great mood and moment shots!
Love the groom shots and the bride on the rocks… sounds like a new whiskey drink.
