There are a few combinations that make amazing photos. One combination would be a couple super in love (and not shy to show it) + great light. This is exactly what I had at Alexé and Raynie’s wedding.
Alexé and Raynie are good friends of mine from church. They decided a few months ago that the 19th of July was going to be their wedding date. They got engaged and from there on they were making plans for their special day (eventhough they did not have any money to pay for anything, they were just trusting that the Lord would provide.)
I offered to take their photos, but they told me they’d rather have me there as a guest, because I’m always running around with the camera :) As the days came closer to their wedding people were just blessing them with everything they needed to have a fabulous and absolutely gorgeous wedding. From her dress to his suit. A day before the wedding I heard that they were not able to afford a photographer for the wedding and that just broke my heart! How could I let their wedding day pass without having photographic memories to go back to? I packed all my equipment & my make-up kit and then we road tripped to Oudtshoorn…
Alexé has never allowed me to take photos of her, but on her wedding she was just loving the camera. It was such a blessing to photograph their wedding, the saying “It’s better to give than to receive” is so true! Thank you for blessing me, you guys are amazing, your faith and the way you trust encourages me every time I talk to you guys! I hope these photos give you a glimpse of that blessed 19th of July 2009!
And to keep this “it’s better to give than to receive”, I’ve decided to give away a wedding every year from now on. Any couple can qualify, but you have to send me your story and why you think you deserve the “free” wedding shoot. I’ll post more details about the give away soon. xx

Dit bring vreugde in my hart om te sien dat `n couple soos Alexè en Raynie, so gelukkig kan wees. Vandag laat hulle my meer en meer besef dat daar `n Lewendige God is wat ons dien en alles moontlik maak vir sy kinders wat hom dien. Ek wens hulle alle sterkte toe met hulle lewe wat hulle opreg en nuut begin het in Christus.
