I’ve been working on Adobe Lightroom for the last 4 months and I absolutely love it! I love the fact that I can flip through all my RAW images really quickly..select the ones I want to work on and with no delay it opens up for editing…it just works!
Lightroom has all the main features for photographers such as colour correction, brightness, aperture settings, levels etc etc. But something that it missed till now was a tool similar to the dodge and burn tool in Photoshop. But now with Lightroom 2 they added such a feature. I tested it out today and it work wonders!
Some of my images have the right exposure in the front, but the back needs to be a bit darker to “pop” the image..here is one sample:
Firstly I upped the brightness a bit, but then the background was blown out. So I masked the background and painted over it with a -0.5 exposure. Afterwards I added a bit of black and contrast and magic!
The other new features I like, is the new “post crop” vignette feature. Previously if you cropped an image you couldn’t really add or remove vignette, however now it’s possible! If you have lightroom 1, you can download the trail version of Lightroom Beta 2 for 30 days.
I hope version 2 will have a upgrade option, as I just bought my lightroom 1 a few months ago :)

Just downloaded the 30 day trial, wish me luck!
